I see you 2025...
I wanted to close out the 2024 season by giving a little recap on my year, along with what's to come in the next one. I love the feeling of a reset that you get with a new year, and I think it's the perfect time to reflect, set goals, and make some changes.
2024 celebrations
I have never once had expectations when it comes to my business. I'm quite a go with the flow type of person, so I tend to simply do what feels right for me and my brand as I continue to grow. However, I am shocked each and every year with what changes, how my business expands, and all of the wonderful people that keep me busy. I end each year thinking the next one can't get any better, but somehow it consistently has. Here are some of my favorite milestones from 2024...
my first destination wedding
I was lucky enough to fly to the Florida Keys to capture my first destination wedding. How will I ever top that?! What an amazing experience that was, and it went way more smoothly than I expected. It was a huge challenge for me, but something I am so grateful to have done. I'm looking forward to potentially getting more opportunities like that on the books soon!
started a blog
I kicked off 2024 by starting this blog! What I loved about this milestone is that it challenged me and pushed me to keep myself accountable. I forced myself to publish a post once a month. Coming up with topics, wondering if people would be interested, and simply constructing each post alone has been a ton of work. That being said, I have personally learned from the experience, and I love the conversations I've had with people as a result. Although I'm not 100% sure on what the future of the blog looks like, I'm happy to have put myself out there in a different format for the business.
local restaurant menu photos
This was another one that was certainly outside of my comfort zone. I have done one or two food/product shoots in the past, but I never felt too good about the result. There was a local restaurant owner who I had a connection with that really wanted me to take the photos, so I took the leap and agreed. For the first time, I was super proud of what I produced. It was gratifying to see my photos float around on the social media and the menu.

weddings
Somehow, I tripled the number of weddings booked in 2024 vs. what I booked in 2023. It was by far the busiest and most successful year yet. This was one of the first years where I truly felt that I was "good enough" per se to photograph weddings. I never labeled myself as a wedding photographer and still struggle to today, but this year proved to me that I am capable and trusted. Overbooking myself reminded me that being busy is a good sign, and that alone was enough to boost my confidence. I already have 6 booked for 2025, so I'm looking forward to other opportunities that will pop up throughout the year. We're gearing up for another big year over here!
coming soon
With any new year comes changes, and I'm looking forward to how they will pan out as the year goes on. Aside from the restructuring of pricing, check out the three major changes coming to Kylie Norwood Photography in 2025.
weddings
Two major changes coming to booking weddings with me going forward: pricing and process. First and foremost, up to this point I have charged an hourly rate for my weddings. With the number I booked this year, I quickly learned how the growing work is not linear. As a result, I decided to curate packages to help accommodate for this. As always, I still offer custom packages and flexibility! The second change, and really benefit to you all, is the tweaks in the process. I am offering some more resources, some deeper planning assistance, consultation calls, and more. With these price increases comes a better streamlined process for you all, and I'm excited to see how this impacts the wedding day and my relationships with my couples. Reach out if you'd like to know more, and I'll be happy to share the guide!
blog
As I mentioned earlier, this year I committed to posting one blog post per month. Towards the end of the year, I found myself scraping the barrel for ideas or maybe it was just writer's block. I wanted to alleviate some of that pressure going forward. Instead of setting a schedule with hard deadlines, I want to give myself space to simply publish a post when I feel inspired, have a new idea, or just want to share something with you all.
I am not saying goodbye to the blog, but more so just keeping it a bit more flexible for myself. I think this will make a tremendous impact on my success in my business. If you have any ideas or requests, just reach out and I'm happy to explore the topic!
semi-rebrand
I did a pretty hefty rebrand towards the end of 2023 and made some general graphic design changes on my website this year in combination of redesigning resources, guides, etc. - all of which I have always done on my own. In 2025, I'd love to collaborate with a graphic designer (a true professional unlike myself) to help curate some graphics, logos, and so much more that fit my vision and brand. I have quickly learned how time consuming that can be, and if 2025 is anything like this year, I simply won't have the time to do the type of redesign work that I'm looking for.
I've been scouting out some graphic designers, but if anybody has some recommendations in the Lehigh Valley, please send them my way!
goals
I have a few, somewhat random goals I'd love to accomplish in 2025. Aside from a potential rebrand, here are some of my thoughts going into the new year...
- Improve my clients' pre-session experience
- Take more self portraits
- Enhance my social media skills & post more consistently
- Launch an ad or two (tips greatly appreciated)
- Purchase a 50mm 1.2
- Book 10 weddings (too ambitious?)
- Shoot more nature
I'll circle back in a year to see how much was actually accomplished ;)
see ya next year!
As always, I thank each and every one of you that have read a blog, shared a post, booked a session, referred me as a photographer, and any other way in which you have shown support. I couldn't do this without each and every one of you. I am so incredibly excited to see where I am a year from now, and I'm looking forward to all of the milestones and adventures that will come in 2025. Have a safe, happy, and healthy end to 2024. Catch y'all next year!
